Meet The Founder
Dimitris Bertsimas is the Associate Dean for the Master of Business Analytics at MIT. A faculty member since 1988, his research interests include optimization, stochastic systems, machine learning, and their application. In recent years, he has worked in robust optimization, statistics, healthcare, transportation, and finance.
Dr. Bertsimas was a cofounder of Dynamic Ideas, LLC, which developed portfolio management tools for asset management. He is also the cofounder of Benefits Science, a company that designs health care plans for companies, and of MyA health, a personalized health care advice company. He has co-authored more than 200 scientific papers.
He most recently founded H2O to create the first ever hassle-free product that optimizes hospital operations holistically and effectively. His vision is to push the limits of healthtech to improve patient care.

Dr. Ajay Kumar is the Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for Hartford HealthCare. He has more than two decades of healthcare experience and has served in a wide range of leadership roles with oversight of quality and patient safety, risk management, hospital operations and education. Prior to his role as Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Kumar made great contributions in improving Hartford Hospital’s operational efficiency, quality, and patient safety.

Dr. Barry Stein is the Vice President and Chief Clinical Innovation Officer at Hartford HealthCare (HHC). Most recently, Dr. Stein led the creation of ImageConnect, HHC’s versatile and secure enterprise medical-image platform, which was designed to work alongside the Epic electronic health record. He also takes a lead role in HHC’s new “med-tech” start-up ecosystem with local partners and has been helping HHC institutes optimize “big data” and keep driving telehealth initiatives.

Dr. Elias Samaras is the Chairman of DigiTrust, a dynamic incubator firm focused on innovation with machine learning. Dr. Samaras is a seasoned entrepreneur with an excellent record of leadership in various profitable tech companies. He is the Founder of Thermo Digital Technologies and Digital Security Technologies S.A. His “photodig” technology is used in large scale high security projects in the world, such as in the exclusive production of US passports by the Department of State for the last 22 years.
